The economy

Many people in the government have been telling us the economy is getting better. From the perspective of someone who is really trying to hold down a job I would have to say that the experts in Washington do not have a clue about the real America which the rest of us live in. The real America sees failed businesses getting free money in order to lay off the people who actually do the work, which, at one time was the way wealth was created in this country. In today's world it is merely printed in hopes that working people will one day make the money real. I recommend a return to the gold standard. This may limit the amount of cash available in the world but the cash would be real. I also recommend that all government officials who seem to spend their lives living in a bubble go out and get a real job which requires that person produce something tangible before they are allowed to sit in some office and tell the rest of us they know how we feel. the reality is that Gietner, Obama, or any one else up there Republican or Democrat have know more idea of reality than an untreated person with multiple personality disorder. This country should not be based on usury but on what we can produce to help our fellow man. Credit produces debt, farmers produce food, which would you suppose is the most important to the average American right now. Food is tangible and provides for specific needs for and individual. Debt only services itself, it feeds upon itself, It starves everything else in order to feed itself. It must end.

The shirking of responsibility

I am getting tired of the government finding ways to absolve people of their responsibilities. It is not because I want to be responsible for every thing that goes on in the world, but I do want to have the choice to do whatever it is I choose to do. If my responsibilities for my actions are removed then so too are my rights to do them. The only way to release me from the responsibility of what I say is to remove my ability to say what I want to. Then since I will not have a voice I will not be capable of saying anything that offends any one. Of course, this would also mean that I couldn't say any thing to help anyone either. If I do not have any say in the raising of my children to some one else then it won't be my fault went they become scoundrels. I also will have no one to help me when I am old or to show the things that I like to. Responsibility is what makes life worth living because people who are responsible are able to make decisions in life and be satisfied with the work that they did. Responsibility is what the Bill of Rights is all about. What a person can do is directly related to what he should do. Rights and responsibility are linked in ways that can only be divorced by negligence. the present trend of the people is to promote negligence. I reject this trend, because to accept it is to reject freedom.

Homeschool

My wife home schools our children She does out of concern for the safety of our children and for the opportunity to raise our children to be upright citizens of this country. However the state of Arkansas is in the process of passing a law that would place unnecessary burdens on me the parent from assuming my parental responsibilities and raising my child. Because when my family started growing each of those children were placed into my care as my responsibility. It is not the responsibility, nor can can it be made so either financially or in time and resources, of the state to raise or educate children. It is a service, needed by many, which helps children receive a basic education with which they can go forth as productive Americans. It is my choice as to whether a service is used or not. The state of Arkansas seems to be attempting to absolve parents of their responsibilities by stripping them of their rights as both parents and Americans. Is home schooling perfect, no, but neither is the public school. In a homes school environment there are better opportunities for one one one teaching to enable children to better excel in the subjects taught. Some people may complain that some home school children are just being left to their own devices and are not really being taught any thing, an argument which is valid in the public school system as well and is why my oldest is now in private school, he was being passed through to get him out of the way. It has been in the last two years after public school that he learn that reading is important if you want to get along in life. If I was to pass a law which stated all public school officials were required to talk the bus each day they would scream discrimination against a choice in transportation, that is kind of how some home school parents feel about this law.

Responsibility 3

No soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law. This indicates soldiers cannot simply by quartered in our homes without our permission, as was the problem before and during the revolution. The British would come in and occupy someones house and use up their food without permission or compensation leaving the property owners destitute and hungry. Today special provisions in the laws have to be passed in order to even billet troops in private houses and compensation must be paid any time this happens. So what is the responsibility for the citizens in this situation. Well, first it is the responsibility of each person to know when such conditions exist which required such provisions to be passed. They also have the responsibility to keep track of the information they will need in order to be compensated.

The Shooting, responsibility 2

I guess that there is no reason to be surprised by this latest church shooting, but it is shocking regardless. I am curious what a preacher could do that is so heinous as to require public execution. But the Bible I read says that such activities will only become more common as time goes by. In fact the Bible I read says that such activities as church shootings will one day be promoted as a healthy pass time. Today, we still find this to be shocking, inhuman, barbaric, or what ever other term you might be able to think of to might describe it. The reality is that another person abused his constitutional right for some unknown reason, now all the people associated with that church in Illinois will pay the price. They are not the only ones who will suffer, every person in the United States who owns a gun will feel the wrath of some one who feels these rights should be curtailed. The problem with the argument is that gun ownership is not just a right but a responsibility. Each and every person in this country who may came into contact with a gun has the responsibility to know two things; First is how to carry themselves when in the presence of a gun, and secondly how to handle a gun. The first may sound silly to some but different situations require a person to carry oneself differently in each situation. Friendly situations are much different than unfriendly ones, and it is important for every one to know how to avoid the unfriendly ones. The second may sound silly to people who do not even like guns but you never know when you are going to find yourself in a situation where a gun will be present and you are the one that will be required to make sure that it is safe for the situation you are in.
That is only the basic responsibility. Now there is the big one that many people do not like to think about. No matter what many people think the courts have ruled, the responsibility of each individuals personal safety is the job of that citizen. The police have neither the power or the responsibility of each individuals safety, their job is the collective safety of the community in which they are appointed to protect. It is a physically impossible task for them to do that. It is not their job to do it because our founding fathers designed the Constitution to instill personal responsibility into each person who lives in this country.
The other responsibility of the Second Amendment comes from the idea of governments not being very trustworthy. The tendency of power is to try and usurp more power. In this sense the founding fathers were very forward thinking. With these guns that we have so many of we are expected to protect ourselves, our homes, and our country, which sometimes must be protected from our country. Fortunately that has not yet had to happen. Hopefully it never will, but successful people are those who plan for the worst and hope for the best.
In the mean time it is the responsible thing to do to know how to handle firearms. That person in the church did not care about any ones rights any more than he cared about his responsibilities. My prayers are with the preachers family who must now go on without a father, and for a congregation that must continue on without their senior pastor, as well as a town that must be in shock over the whole thing, But as a Christian I also have the responsibility to pray for the man who brought all this grief into that town. Justice will be served out in full measure, but compassion must also be given a full measure to every one involved. Just like the second amendment this is an American responsibility.

responsibility 1

I am a believer in the United States Constitution. I also am a staunch supporter of the Bill of Rights. I do not stop at the concept of rights but feel that the Bill of Rights is a Bill of Responsibilities. The First Amendment says, "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for the redress of grievances."
This says that religion is not the responsibility of government but the peoples. It also prohibits the free speech from hindrance though the supreme court did put limitations for the sake of public safety on this. Assembly and petitioning the government are also protected. these things are not to be abridged by the government so the responsibility of them fall to the people.
The Government can not tell people what religious convictions to have therefore each citizen must take responsibility and know what it is that they believe in. because if they do not know what they believe in, whether or not any one else might share such a belief or not, they have no compass by which to decide whether the government or any one else is right or wrong and will find it more difficult to make informed decisions about the world around them.
The freedom to say what is on ones mind in speech or in the press shall not be abridged but by he same token it is the responsibility of each person to be able to speak intelligently. For though a person can say what they please no on is required to listen to everything that is said. This means that if some one wants to be heard they have the responsibility to say something intelligent. This by implies that the citizens of this country are expected to stay informed of what is going on in the world around them. Informed people make informed decisions and can therefore carry on an intelligent conversation, which intern increases the chances of some one being willing to here what they have to say.
The people of this country also have the right to peaceably assemble which says they have the responsibility to not be trouble makers or hang around those who incite non-peacable activities in group settings. Lynch mobs and riots are unconstitutional and inciting them is a violation of someone else right to peaceful Assembly.
The right to petition the government for the redress of grievances like speech implies an informed person. First the person or people with the grievance must understand the capabilities and limitations the those the grievance is being addressed to. Secondly they must understand what a legitimate grievance is. It must also be understood which part of government should hear what grievance.
Regardless of which part of this amendment some one looks at there is a responsibility which applies to each citizen.

The President Cont.

One of the things that must be said is that either the current president is a genius who is thinking way outside the box and knows something that no one else knows, or else he is totally stupid or at least listening to very stupid advice, or one other far fetched possibility is that he is intentionally running the country into the ground so that the only way to fix the problem is to turn the sovereignty of the United States over to the United Nations and set up a one world government. I would certainly hope that the last is not true, and though I know that he is a very intelligent man, I suspect that the first comment does not apply in this case. As it has already been attested to here that he is a very smart person then the only thing left to believe is that the current president is a poor judge of character who has surrounded himself with horrible people that are either criminally negligent or totally unqualified for the jobs they hold. That is unfortunate but time will tell if these fears are justified or not.

The President

I tend to have a more conservative point of view than many people. So I tend to disagree with everything that the current presidential administration is doing, but I also did not like the way in which the last administration departed from what I tend to believe in. I tend to believe that I can manage my money better than someone else. So the idea of taking my hard earned money and giving it to some one that has proved themselves to be in capable of managing their own money seems crazy to me. I do not understand why this is good for the economy. Now people are complaining that banks are doing what banks do, Accepting money and trying to drum up more business. Some of the banks that received money did not even need it. However banks deal in money, they take it and make it grow. So it should be no surprise that banks took the money offered to them whether they needed it or not. If my job was to grow corn and someone gave me free seed then it is reasonable that I would take it and plant it, I might even feed some to my cows. If you do not want me to feed any to my cows then you had better tell me before giving me the corn that I cannot use it for feed.
